Tadley Calleva chase more club history
FA Vase clash with Haywards Heath set to get Barlows Park buzzing
TADLEY CALLEVA bid to make more club history when they entertain Haywards Heath Town on Saturday bidding to clam a place in the Third Round of the FA Vase.
The Southern Combination League side are a division lower than the Littlehampton team that Tadley beat in the previous round, but that bears litte scrutiniy as Heath have logged 27 points from their 10 league games, losing only their league opener Southwick, since when they have notched 38 goals in nine league games conceding only seven.
They beat another Wessex League side - Alton Town - by a single goal in the previous round, and Tadley manager Danny Dolan has been able to watch several recordings of Saturday’s rivals.
They are decent up top and going forward,” he said. “They do score goals, but they are also a bit vulnerable at the other end, although they may be thinking we are the same.
“We’ve beaten a team above them in their league, and if we go into this game with the same mindset and attitude, I think we can give ourselves a good chance of getting into the next round.”
Dolan hopes to have Tolu Sotonye fit to offer more attacking options and he has also added Callum Bush and Adam Adam Bassimeh to the squad that went down 1-0 at Laverstock and Ford in a windswept league game settled by James Clinton’s first half goal.
