Matilda earns five star reviews
Team Kennet Quadkids rounded off their Oxfordshire Young Athletes League with an impressive final performance in Abingdon on Sunday, September 4.
Kennet finished second on the day and were runners-up in the league, finishing behind hosts Oxford.
The girls were crowned champions of their league while the boys finished third overall.
The under-nine girls had an excellent afternoon, finishing second overall, while Ella Larkin finished second in the individual standings.
Larkin starred in the 600m, clocking a time of 2:13.7, and the vortex throw, launching her best effort over 22m.
Both Evie Kearney and Megan Jones also added points for Team Kennet with fantastic performances.
The under-nine boys were sixth overall, Finn Fitzmaurice and Seb Lauder-Clarke putting in some determined performances.
The under-11 boys had a strong squad of six and secured a third placed finish, while Euan Jones came 11th overall in the individual rankings.
Ben Doherty threw furthest in the vortex throw, surpassing 30m, with Henry Bell a close second with 27.55m.
Oscar Larkin clocked an impressive 2:02.1 in the 600m, ahead of Elliot Bell who ran well to finish in 2:09.06, and Luke Stiles achieved a personal best 3.28m in the long jump.
The under-11 girls performed well to earn a third placed finish, Matilda Clare also finished third in the individual standings.
Isla Ladds threw 21.24m in the vortex throw, Ella McDonald leapt 3m in the long jump, Clare 3.07m and Penelope Lyth 3.22m, placing fifth overall.
Completing the team was Edith Evans as Kennet finished a successful season with second place overall.
Team Kennet also had several athletes represent Berkshire in the Oxford under-15/17 Inter Counties match.
Seb Simpson broke the under-17 club discus record with a throw of 42.63m, finishing third and moving up to 14th in the UK rankings.
Clare McGonnell also threw a personal best 32.77m to finish fourth in the under-15 javelin while George Down came fourth in the under-17 long jump.
