Thatcham Bowling Club make final





In a closely fought semi-final against Maiden Erleigh, the scores went back and forth, but Thatcham (pictured) pulled through to secure an overall four shot win.
The Thatcham scores in the semi final were (Thatcham scores first) Robert Pike, Alan Rivers and Terry Tucker (skip) 15-18; Lawrence Cox, Bill Coppard and Derek Parsonson (skip) 17-9; Jay Thomas, Jeff Caddy and Bill Dines (skip) 18-19 giving a match score of 50-46 to Thatcham. Andy Roberts was Thatcham’s reserve.
In the final, at Wokingham on 9 September, Thatcham will meet Tilehurst B, who had a 69-31 win against Maidenhead Thicket in their semi-final.
The semi-final play offs to decide the County Kennet League Division 1 winners take place this coming weekend, with Thatcham’s KL A team playing Desborough at Reading BC, and Tilehurst playing Reading in the other semi-final, at Tilehurst.
Thatcham will be out in force again the following day, in the final of the County Club Championship, when they play Royal Household at Morland BC.
In the last of the National finals, David Miles lost by one shot in the singles, to George Tubby of Norfolk, and Richard Kozlowski lost by three shots to Mark Todd, of Suffolk, in the two-wood Singles.
