Town manager Scott Tarr handed a full debut to 16-year-old Peter Raines, who rewarded his boss with a goal in the second half.
While Ben McCready, who recently transferred to Thatcham from Newbury, produced a man of the match performance with a hat trick of goals.
McCready opened the scoring after fifteen minutes, followed by a brace by Jack Coventry.
McCready then scored his second and Thatcham’s fourth just a minute before the half time whistle.
Five minutes after the break Raines scored his debut goal, before substitute Liam Painter got on the score sheet in the 77 minute.
Not to be outdone, midfielder Danny Langford struck two minutes later for Town’s seventh of the afternoon.
Nathan Stewart then scored a consolation for the home side, before McCready completed his hat trick from the penalty spot.
The result leaves the Kingfishers thirteen points above the drop zone, while Woodford remain rooted to the bottom of the table with no points.
Thatcham face a number of promotion candidates during the Christmas and New Year period, starting with an away trip to Royston Town.
The Kingfishers then welcome Fleet Town to Waterside Park on Boxing Day.
