Thatcham record first point since mid-December

Monday’s draw was Town’s first point in the Evo Stik Central Division since their victory over Woodford United on December 15.
Following the game Thatcham boss Scott Tarr was pleased to start 2013 on a positive note after the poor run of results in the last two months.
Tarr’s decision to promote a number of youth players to the first team was vindicated, as youngsters Peter Raines and Liam Painter were again on the score sheet for Thatcham.
Town started brightly on a crisp afternoon and opened the scoring in the 19th minute through Raines.
However the lead was short lived as Guildford equalised two minutes later through winger Dan Moody.
Guildford then took the lead just a minute after the half time, with Moody latching onto a through ball.
Thatcham showed great fighting spirit to stay in the game and were rewarded in the 57th minute when Painter equalised.
Both sides pushed forward to find a winning goal but the game ended 2-2.
The result leaves Thatcham 19th in the league with Beaconsfield SYCOB visiting Waterside Park on Saturday.
