Thatcham slip to another seven wicket defeat
Defeat to Henley II sees Thatcham remain in ninth place in the Thames Valley League Division One table
THATCHAM slipped to a seven-wicket defeat for the second week running against Henley II on Saturday.
It was a case of déja vu for the West Berkshire side as they batted first and just made over 200 runs, like they had done against Amersham last week.
Dan Stone repeated his batting performance from last week, scoring 55 once more, with other contributions from the middle order helping the side reach 202 all out in 51.4 overs, securing 10 batting points for the West Berkshire outfit.
But similarly to last week, their opponents batted well, making 205-3 from 45.1 overs, with Henley II picking up the win and 20 points, compared to Thatcham's 11.
The result sees Thatcham stay in ninth place in the Thames Valley League Division One, 11 points ahead of bottom side Fleet and nine points behind Beaconsfield, who Thatcham face next Saturday.
