Thatcham target 30th anniversary promotion

Thatcham are clear in second place in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier Division and take on a Stow side they beat 52-20 on the opening day of the campaign last September.
It is the start of a busy period for Thatcham. Many of the players set off four a four-day tour of Marbella the following weekend before returning for the club's formal 30th anniversary celebrations on April 28.
A Thatcham side will take on a Berkshire Select XV in a celebration game, but there may be more to celebrate as Thatcham's senior squad is due to face Windsor in the semi-finals of the Berkshire Plate on the same day.
The winners will travel to play either Broadmoor or Tadley in the final on Sunday, May 6.
Tadley face their own battle on Saturday when they go to Aylesbury bidding to beat the drop from Southern Counties North and be replaced by Thatcham. They stand two points clear of second to bottom Slough, who have a tricky home game with Grove.
Tadley's survival would mean that they and Thatcham would go head-to-head next season, one division below Newbury Blues, who complete their home programme on Saturday with the visit of Cheltenham-based Old Patesians.
