Town chase form return at Ascot
Tadley need to raise the morale ensign against navy side
THATCHAM TOWN bid to end a run of three games for a single point when they go to Ascot United at The Racecourse on Saturday.
Town remain second in the Hellenic League’s Premier Division table but have played between two and four games more than the teams around them, Ascot having three in hand and four points to make up from eight spot.
AFC Aldermaston go to Wokingham and Emmbrook in Division One East.
Tadley need a shot of confidence
TADLEY CALLEVA need a shot of confidence after suffering their second Sydenhams Wessex League defeat of the campaing at home to New Milton Town on Saturday.
They have the chance to put that right when they entertain US Portsmouth this weekend with manager Danny Dolan hoping that his side can return to form.
“I don’t know what’s wrong,” he said, “It’s a bit of a morale problem. We don’t become a bad team overnight, but it’s just not happening for us and we are making silly errors and giving away goals rather than conceding good ones. And we are creating plenty of chances but nothing’s happening.
“The players are definitely capable but there’s a lack of confidence at the moment.”
Dolan was without Sam Hamilton, Isaac Sedu, Dan Walker and and Glen Gabriel, but the first two return for Saturday’s game.
