Town chasing semi-final place
THATCHAM TOWN return to action tonight bidding for a place in the semi-finals of the Southern League's Red Insure League Cup.
They will take on Division One South and West rivals Clevedon Town without five regulars. The recent lack of games means that Tom Etheridge, Mark Hughes and Scott Rees are all still suspended, while defender Matt Bowler is away on a school trip and top scorer James Clark is unavailable.
But Thatcham are trying to rush through the loan signing of Aldershot Town defender Bradley Pegg in time for him to make his debut in the game at Waterside Park.
"We have to get all the paperwork and approvals done four hours before the kick-off" said manager Gary Ackling.
A win would tame Thatcham into the semi-finals of the competition for the first time, alongside some of the league's major clubs."There are some good sides in it," said Ackling, "and it would be something for a club such as ours to get into the last four of the competition."
The tie kicks off at Waterside Park at 7.45pm.
