Town lose out at Gloucester

Blue Square Bet North Gloucester pocketed the £4,500 purse and a place in the Third Qualifying Round as Thatcham failed to make the most of the chances that came their way.
Charlie Hill hit the bar before Gloucester went ahead after 20 minutes when Kieron Thorne brought down Will Morford and Darren Edwards beat Jon Beames from the penalty spot.
Gloucester had chances to stretch their lead before Thatcham grabbed an equaliser five minutes prior to the interval when defender Mike Green tuned the ball past his namesake goalkeeper when he tied to cut out a Jack Coventry cross.
But Gloucester were back in front three minutes after the interval when Ben Hunt made ground and crossed to give Morford a simple chance.
Substitute Josh Daniels missed Thatcham’s best chance to securing a replay as Gloucester saw out time to move within two ties of the first round proper.
