Thatcham take over Hellenic leadership with comfortable home win

THATCHAM TOWN went to the top of the Hellenic League’s Premier Division for the first time in more than 40 years.

With Flackwell Heath on a day off. Thatcham joined them on points and still have a game in hand after taking a 2-0 first lead through Tom Moran and Josh Baines.

Ardley pulled one back before the interval through Chris Jackson, but Josh Helmore netted the only goal of the second period to lift Thatcham to the top.

Thatcham are in cup action on Tuesday night when they go to Oxford City Nomads in the Perpetua Press Floodlit Cup.
