Trainer happy to have Sprinter back on track

Although a vet’s inspection highlighted a minor bleeding issue after losing out to Paul Nicholls’ Dodging Bullets in the Sodoxo Clarenace House Chase, the Seven Barrows master remained confident that s horse is on course for Cheltenham and the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
“There were no negatives,” said Henderson, “except he got a bit tired and got beat.”
The 4-6 favourite came in three lengths behind Dodging Bullets with Ruby Walsh on Twinlight another five lengths distant and AP McCoy and Somersby fourth for Mick Channon’s yard.
It was Sprinter Sacre’s first race in 386 days after the heartbeat issue that cropped up at Kempton in the Desert Orchid Chase. Then horse jumped well and carried through the field, but looked short on the run-in.
A nosebleed was spotted afterwards, but was ruled to be minor and, said Henderson: “I believe we’re on the right track.
“We’re getting there, and that was a big step.”
