West Berks had a tough last-16 clash against Oyster (Kent), winning 16-14 before cruising past Cambridge Chesteron 23-12 in the quarter-finals.

They then saw off Dolphin (Dorset) 18-16 in the semis before scraping home in the final.

The quartet will now go on to represent England in the British Isles Championships in Scotland next March.

Parsonson, who has played for England and England Over-50s, said: "It was very tense, but we did it.

"Fred and Richard both won this competition for West Berks 10 years ago."

All four play outdoor bowls for Thatcham and they will now turn their attention to the coming Kennet League season.

Meanwhile, West Berks Indoor Bowls Club, which is situated in Pyle Hill, will remain open throughout the summer.
