West Berkshire's reigning champion Christy Whelehan wins weekend stableford

Reigning men’s champion Christy Whelehan shot par 73 to score 38 points and win the men’s Saturday stableford at West Berkshire Golf Club.

He was followed home by Andy Yates, who scored 37 points to relegate Mark Motion to third place on countback.

Yates went one better the following week when he scored 42 points to take first place.

Jez Stewart with 41 beat Simon Clifford on countback to take second spot.

Steve Fisher scored 36 points to win Round 3 of the Gillas Cup.

A three-way tie on 35 points was resolved in the order of Gary Moore, Mark Ridgill and Mark Kendal on countback.

Renee Wheeler won the ladies’ Winter Trophy stableford with 29 points.

Carol Sparvell was a point behind in second place while Georgie Seaman with 27 points beat Carol Joyce on countback to take third place.
