Newbury Sunday League: White Hart cruise into Vic French Cup semi-final after win over Berkshire Wanderers




The White Hart Barbarians have progressed into the semi-final of the Vic French Cup after beating Berkshire Wanderers 6-2 on Sunday.

Newbury Bootleggers cruised to an 8-1 home win over Elm Park Athletic, while NWX FC returned to winning ways with a 5-2 victory away to Furze Bush Inn.

Brimpton Rangers are the other side into the last four of the competition after they earned a 2-0 win over Black Horse.

In the premier division, leaders Bucklebury had to settle for a 1-1 draw against OLA Prestige.

Jake Allan scored the only goal for Bucklebury, while Callum Cunningham was on target for the visitors in the match.

In the other league game, Paggies Bar secured an emphatic 9-0 victory over Taste of England.

Will Edwards scored four times for Paggies, while Terry Patton netted a hat-trick and both Jack Wickens and Ross Lawrence also found the back of the net in the win.

Meanwhile, Woolton Hill Argyle have moved into the last-16 of the Hampshire FA Sunday Vase after a 4-1 win away to Oak FC of Basingstoke.

Argyle opened the scoring through Joe Power midway through the first-half and they held their lead at the interval.

The home side equalised five minutes into the second period, but goals from Harry Monger, Jordan Sharpe and James Pye sent them through to the next round.
