Young local gymnast Jude Yam shows class at regional championships
A young local gymnast has blown away the competition at a regional championships.
Jude Yam walked into the U10 Southern Regionals with high hopes, and achieved a fantastic medal haul.
The nine-year-old won an amazing four gold medals, winning the Overall, Floor, High-bar and P-bar categories.
Yam also took home a silver medal for his performance on the rings, as well as a bronze medal for the vault.
The Hermitage youngster is a pupil at Yattendon Primary School and can now call himself a U10 Southern Regional Artistic Gymnastics Champion.
Artistic gymnastics is a sport which Great Britain has often excelled in at an Olympic level.
The sport has been a mainstay of the Olympics since 1896, with Max Whitlock OBE’s three gold medals and three bronzes the British highlights.
Although it's still early days, Yam already has his sights set on competing at the Olympics one day.
