Young's 82 in vain for Thatcham
Thatcham Town suffered an agonising one wicket defeat at the hands of Windsor in Saturday's Division 3a clash.
Thatcham won the toss and elected to bat but lost their first four wickets for just 24 runs.
That sent Jamie Young to the crease - his impressive 82 steadied the ship and then pushed Thatcham towards a competitive total.
Ben Denton-Powell added 28 and Steven Bartholomew scored 18 to help Thatcham post 190/8 from their 45 overs.
Windsor's openers made starts, but wickets from Mike Green (4-48) prevented them from establishing themselves.
Windsor looked to be heading to a fairly comfortable win but a middle order collapse set up a close finish.
Green was well supported by Odhinn Moore (2-43) and there were also wickets for Chris Bird, Tommy Mather and George Wheeler.
Some crucial runs from the tail proved decisive for Windsor - Thatcham denied by a single wicket.
Thatcham 2s won a close game, beating Maidenhead and Bray 2s by eight runs in Division 4a.
Alistair Cooper scored a superb 84 from 113 balls and Owen Jenkins hit 36 from 45 as Thatcham posted 221/8 from their 45 overs.
That looked a defendable total, and it looked even better when Harvey Mackay (2-27) and Owen Jenkins (2-47) struck early.
Maidenhead's middle order rallied but excellent bowling from Paul Hemming (3-27) and Bobby Brown (2-21) ensured they fell just short.
Thatcham 3s were well beaten by Reading 3s in their Division 8a fixture.
Thatcham were put into bat and limped to 97/8 from their 40 overs.
Reading eased to an eight wicket victory inside 30 overs.
