Youth Basketball Club on the lookout for new recruits
Youth basketball is on the rise in the Newbury area.
Almost 1.2 million children in Britain play the sport at least once a week, and Kennet Basketball Club are helping to provide local opportunities.
Since its launch in 2018, the club has coached countless children of all ages.
The club is a non-profit organisation, charging subscriptions only to cover running costs and is staffed entirely by volunteers.
The club is registered with governing body Basketball England and all coaches are fully qualified.
Ahead of the new season, they’re on the lookout for new players, inviting anyone interested to get in touch and give the sport a go.
In particular, they’re looking to fill spots in the school years 2 and 3 category, with space still available for boys and girls.
Sessions for that group will run on Saturdays between 9am and 10am from the start of September, and take place at Newbury College Sports Hall.
They’re also on the lookout for girls in school years 7-13, with those sessions also taking place at the College every Wednesday in term time, between 4:15pm and 5:15pm.
There is no deadline to sign up, and anyone interested should contact enquiries@kennetbasketball.net, with more information available on their Facebook page.
