Newbury swimmer wins five gold medals at Windsor Open meet
ZARA RYAN was queen of the medals when Newbury Swimming Club produced a string of regal performances at the Windsor Open Mee at Maidenhead's Magnet leisure Centre over the weekend.
She struck gold five times in the 100m and 200 metres breaststroke, 200 and 400m individual medley and the 100m butterfly, the latter in a National Qualifying Time of 1 minute 05.75 seconds, adding a silver in the 200m freestyle to her collection.
And 10-year old Molly Dummett took her age group by storm when winning a gold in the 200m breaststroke in 3:24.38 as well as claiming four silvers in the 100m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and 200m medley while Alice Points was another golden girl in the same age group's 200m butterfly in 3:34.70.
Millie Pope reigned supreme in the 11-year olds' butterfly events, winning both the 100m in 1:14.81 and 200m in 2:46.80.
