IT’S 11.10am and we’re counting down to the midday start of Newbury Carnival.
The stalls are up and ready to go; the grand parade is at 2pm and other highlights will include the Reading Scottish Pipe band who will be bringing their special sound of the Highlands as they march in the parade and perform at the fete afterwards.
The Rampage Mas Band will bring a touch of the Caribbean to the streets, with a rich musical flavour to accompany their stunning outfits.
Newbury and Thatcham Rock Choir will be performing at the Carnival Fete from 12pm; Hungerford Town Band will be playing in the bandstand from 3pm to 5pm, and there are performances throughout the afternoon in the Fete Arena, including the much acclaimed Mini Band, Sticky Fingers with their ukuleles, Interakt Community Theatre and Arts, West Berkshire Sway Dance, Steps Ahead Dance School, and Bruce Hogg and his guitar.
The Newbury Weekly News has a stall, too - drop by and say hello.
