Newbury fire crews tackled a blaze on the M4 in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
Two engines from Newbury and one from Theale were called to the car fire between Junction 13 at Chieveley and Junction 12 at Theale at around 2am.
Newbury’s White Watch crews closed lane one and the hard shoulder of the busy motorway while they got the fire under control.
Crew manager Iain Whatley said there had been no further accidents on the motorway following the fire and that there were no casualties.
Thames Valley Police and Highways England traffic officer patrols were also on the scene.
