A Thatcham teenager was hit in the face during an assault carried out in broad daylight. 

The 15-year-old was walking with a friend along the A4 near Crown Mead Stores when a man pulled up in front of them on his bicycle and hit him in the face.

His assailant then rode off; leaving the boy with a swollen lip .

The man is described as stocky, in his late thirties, with short dark hair. He was riding a black mountain bike and, at the time of the offence, was wearing blue jeans and a white, short sleeved rugby top.

The assault occurred at 10.55am on Tuesday, April 7.
