Audi torched in Mortimer field in suspected arson

AN AUDI car was torched in a Mortimer field in a suspected arson last night (Wed).

One pump from Whitley Wood fire station was called at 11.45pm to a field off Pit Field Lane, where am Audi car was discovered in flames. 

No-one was in the vehicle, or hurt.

One firefighter wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to extinguish the blaze.

Firefighters discovered rubbish on the back seat and in the boot, including large stones.

The cause was recorded as a suspected arson by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).

Firefighters left the scene at 12.45pm.
