The A34 at East Ilsley experienced long delays this morning (Friday) after an accident southbound closed one lane followed by a second accident which closed the road northbound.

A collision involving three cars and a truck caused long delays for commuters on the northbound stretch.

This came after a separate collision on the southbound carriageway involving multiple vehicles earlier on.

Highways England took to Twitter to warn motorists of the closure and said: "Be aware Thames Valley Police attending a multi-vehicle collision and A34 northbound now closed at EastIlsley...we'll up date you asap."

A broken down truck also blocked one lane on the southbound carriage of the A34 earlier this morning.

All incidents have now been cleared and both roads re-opened.
