Thatcham Festival less than a month away
Event highlights town's talents
IT’S less than a month until the biggest Thatcham Festival of arts and leisure yet gets under way.
The festival, now in its 15th year, showcases activities available in the town and the talents of Thatcham residents.
This year’s festival will have a bumper 71 events spread over the 14-day event.
The opening day alone features 13 events, including a craft fair in the Broadway and St Mary’s Church; the 25th Primary Schools Tag Rugby Festival; a photographic display hosted by Thatcham Photographic Club; the classic car show on Dunstan Green; a history of Thatcham pubs; and live covers of T Rex and Slade songs by local band Debonair Sunrise.
Some events are free to attend but others will require a ticket from the festival box office in Picture It, in High Street.
The festival will be officially opened by the mayor of Thatcham, Sheila Ellison, at 10am on the Broadway Green. The festival will run from Saturday, October 10, until Friday, October 23.
