Pangbourne Rotary Club supports Purley Park Trust charity
Pangbourne Rotary Club has contributed £1,800 to the Purley Park Trust from funds raised in its recent Woodcote 10K run.
Chief executive of Purley Park Trust Larry Grady gave a talk to Pangbourne Rotarians on Monday, February 13, outlining the history and evolution of the charity since 1948.
Mr Grady emphasised the charity's ethos that "people are at the heart of things" and gave several anecdotes about the challenges and satisfaction his job brings.
He further thanked the Rotarians for their donation and explained the money was being used to upgrade the Reilly Rooms, where residents could relax and enjoy refreshments.
Club president Saerah Hopley closed the celebrations by informing Mr Grady that the Purley Park Trust — a charity supporting more than 80 adults with learning difficulties — would also be a beneficiary of the Dragon Boat races on June 10.
